Angry Joe at https://www.youtube.com/user/AngryJoeShow has 1.8 Million subscribers and does review based gaming on his channel of a wide variety of large and well known game titles.
Purge at https://www.youtube.com/user/PurgeGamers has 328k subscribers, only plays dota 2 and has a couple of how to’s on his channel. Probably not the best person to use, better to use someone in a much more professional circuit.
Cry at https://www.youtube.com/user/ChaoticMonki – has 1 million subscribers and does let’s plays of a wide variety of games that focus a lot of choice and narrative while giving commentary on it.
VaatiVidya at https://www.youtube.com/user/VaatiVidya has 330k subscribers and does videos about Dark Souls and Dark Souls Like games.
Totalbiscuit at https://www.youtube.com/user/TotalHalibut has 1 million subscribers and does a review based channel, his most common one being “WTF is…” series.
Extra Credits at https://www.youtube.com/user/ExtraCreditz has 413k subscribers and does on video game concepts and creation.
Northernlion at https://www.youtube.com/user/Northernlion has 480k subscribers and does a lot of indie steam games, with his biggest and longest series playing Binding of Isaac, with a stream of conciousness style commentary.
Super Best Friends Play at https://www.youtube.com/user/TheSw1tcher has 495k subscribers and is 4 friends who make jokes while playing games, generally bad ones.
Dodger at https://www.youtube.com/user/PressHeartToContinue has 560k subscribers and seems to do a lot of anime games with a comedic style.
Jesse Cox at https://www.youtube.com/user/OMFGcata has 748k subscribers and does a wide range of lets plays with comedic commentary
Markiplier at https://www.youtube.com/user/markiplierGAME– has 5.7 million subscribers and does let’s plays with a comedian style commentary while also adding in highlight videos and extra’s that have to do with his gaming channel.
Pewdiepie at https://www.youtube.com/user/PewDiePie 34.1 million subscribers and does let’s plays in a comedian style and has extra comedic videos of his gaming.
I recognize that a lot of these have comedic styles, but recognize that the comedy is of different styles. Some do a lot of shouting and generally just playing around(Markiplier, Pewdiepie). Others make joking commentary on what is happening in the game(Dodger, Jesse Cox).

2014 SXSW Gaming Awards Highlights Include: The co-emcees for the 2014 SXSW Gaming Awards ceremony were some of the most popular figures on YouTube, iJustine and SMOSH. The Awards also featured brand new videos from Rooster Teeth, WrentheReaper, Code Monkeys, and a very special video from SMOSH. We were also extremely happy to welcome a new and never before seen performance by Cirque du Soleil.

E3 Industry Requirements

Please submit two of these forms of Employee/Company ID:

  • Insurance card listing both employee name and company name
  • Paycheck stub verifying current full-time employment within the industry
  • Company credit card listing both employee name and company name
  • W-2 Form
  • Current business license indicating type of business
  • Current Retail Sales Tax License
  • Current Resale Tax Certificate
  • Invoices within the last 6 months that show purchases of products related to the industry* (with the registrant’s name appearing on the invoice)
  • Current Federal resale tax certificate (VAT)
  • Current IGDA Membership Card

*Retail attendees are eligible for complimentary admission to E3 only if they are responsible for company purchasing. If you are unable to document your buying power by supplying company invoices, purchase orders or other purchasing transactions, you may qualify for a paid admission and should visit www.e3expo.com to register for a 3-day Expo pass.

International attendees should submit similar credentials unique to their country that confirm their employment in the interactive entertainment industry.

AGENCY Employees wishing to attend E3 should submit two of the Company/Employee IDs listed above as well as:

  • The URL to a website that documents your company’s involvement in the interactive entertainment industry
  • An official listing of the clients that you support within the interactive entertainment industry

All registrants are subject to review and approval by Show Management. You will be contacted via email if we require more information or further clarification.

E3 Media Requirements

Required Credentials:

Qualifications of all media outlets will be determined by the E3 2015 media registration staff. Employees of media outlets who do not work in an editorial capacity will not qualify for a media badge including: Art Directors, District Managers, Graphic Designers, Publishers, Managers, Marketing Representatives, Public Relations Personnel, Sales Representatives and Senior Level Managerial staff.

Working journalists over the age of 17 that fall under one of the below categories may register for a media badge:

Freelance Journalists:

Freelance writers from unqualified media outlets will not be admitted. In order to qualify as media, we require that you provide ALL of the following:

  • A copy of your driver’s license or government issued photo identification clearly showing your name and date of birth (no one under 17 will be admitted)
  • International media must submit a copy of your passport, and
  • A letter from a publisher, editor or producer (on their letterhead) stating that you are covering E3 2015 on assignment, and
  • A bylined interactive entertainment industry-related article from your publication (above) written by you and published within the past three months (the copy must clearly show the name of the publication and your byline).

Industry and Financial Analysts:

Please provide ALL of the following:

  • A copy of your driver’s license or government issued photo identification clearly showing your name and date of birth (no one under 17 will be admitted)
  • International media must submit a copy of your passport, and
  • A copy of your business card with name, title and company logo, and
  • A recent report or bulletin on interactive entertainment with your byline written within the past three months.


Online Reporters:

Web sites and podcasters must be previously established (fully launched and operational for at least six months) and updated regularly with original and current interactive entertainment industry news. To qualify as online media, please provide ALL of the following:

  • A copy of your driver’s license or government issued photo identification clearly showing your name and date of birth (no one under 17 will be admitted)
  • International media must submit a copy of your passport, and
  • A copy of your business card with name, editorial title and media outlet’s logo, and
  • URLs to your articles with your name and title appearing in an editorial capacity. Your articles must have been published within the past three months.

* Note: all online outlets must meet minimum site traffic requirements that vary from year to year depending on attendance. The E3 media team will use measurement sites including Compete.com, Quantcast.com and Alexa.com to evaluate each site’s traffic. The E3 media team cannot accept first party analytics.
